School board defers acceptance of principal resignations
A crowd of about 40 parents, students, teachers and staff of Robert J. Elkington Middle School rallied in support of Principal Jeff Britten and Assistant Principal David Burkman at a meeting of the Independent School District 318 school board on Monday, after word got out that both men had handed in their resignations late Friday afternoon -- one year after being hired.
