The Grand Rapids Thunderhawk boys track and field team held its home opener on Tuesday evening at the Webb LaBeau Track.

Itasca women near clinch
A doubleheader sweep over second place Northland Community College inched Itasca closer to another Northern Division championship Wednesday afternoon at home. The strong right arm of Katie McBride made sure of that as the freshman pitcher was masterful in two complete game shutout victories.

Elhard named Section 7AAA Coach of the Year
Grand Rapids Thunderhawk boys basketball coach Dan Elhard does not coach for the awards, however, his hard work and dedication continue to reward him during the post-season.

THawk girls first at GR Invite
The Grand Rapids Thunderhawk girls track and field team blew past the competition at the annual Grand Rapids Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Webb LaBeau Track at the Grand Rapids High School.

The Grand Rapids Thunderhawk girls golf team wrapped up a busy week with tournaments in Brainerd, Pequot Lakes, Staples, Hazeltine and Crosby-Ironton.
