Gardeski tops in the state
Grand Rapids Gymnastics Academys Sarah Gardeski vaulted and tumbled her way to the top of the Minnesota scene with a first place finish in the 2009 Minnesota State Level 7 Finals held at Mounds Park Academy.

Big inning haunts THawks
Most nights when a team plays seven strong innings like the Grand Rapids Thunderhawk softball team did, they'll come away with a victory. However, Thursday evening was unlike most evenings for the Thunderhawks in their season opener.

ICC women win three more
Itasca Community College ran their conference win streak to 11 before Mesabi tripped them up on the road Wednesday in women's softball. The Vikings now stand at 11-1 in conference, 19-9 overall, with a crucial and hectic week awaiting them.
