Library Book Sale

 What's Happening at the Grand Rapids Area  Library

Special event!

 Used Book Sale in the Lobby Saturday, November 15, 11 am -2 pm

            Fundraiser for Young Adult materials.  Organized by the Teen Advisory Board.

Stock up on books for winter reading.  Lots of bargains on paperbacks, hardcovers, and children's books.  Some sold by the bag.  (We're clearing the overstock for the Friends of the Library Bookstore)  All proceeds go toward purchasing Young Adult materials

Thursday, November 13, 5 pm     Teen Book Club

First meeting of the Teen Book Club.  Meet in the Teen Universe room.  Pick a name for the group and choose books to read.

 Thursday, November 13, 7 pm   "Make it Minnesotan!  A Taste of the Sesquicentennial" with Claire Plank.

The new Sesquicentennial cookbook and the stories behind creating a statewide compilation of diverse recipes.  Cooks from Itasca County will demonstrate preparations of their recipes appearing in the book and will share samples. 

 Saturday, November 15, 12:30-2:30 National Gaming Day!  Family Event

All ages invited.  Play our board games or bring your own.  Play video games, too! Help set the record for the most people playing Pictureka on one day.  Hang out, eat snacks and have fun!

10 am Stories for Preschoolers in the Story Circle.

10:00 am Stories for kids at the Library

            Stories told by Daniel Curry and Wanda Ulseth

7:00 pm "Tall Tales, Folk Tales and Your Tales" at the Forest History Center  for adults and older children.  

 Stories by Mary Schmidt,  Daniel Curry and Gloria Anderson-Hegg.

 Saturday, November 22nd, 2:30-4:00 "Twilight" after hours for teens

Celebrate the opening of the movie with fun, food and games! Win movie passes!

ECFE Book Times Continue Mondays 9:30 & 10:30

Storytimes for Preschoolers and their caregivers with games or crafts afterwards.

The Library will be closed on Thursday, November 27, for Thanksgiving

We will be open on Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29.
